General terms on use of our products
  1. Please read the product specific terms for more details.
  1. All our products and services are sold without inclusion of an on-site support cost. This is because computer literacy has generally improved and to reduce your cost. We charge $90 per incident.
  1. Phone support is free and it is limited to 5 minutes. Without being able to see your computer screen, it is impossible for us to provide technical support for complex problems. Please have your computer next to your phone before you call us for support. Training cannot be expected over the phone.
  1. Trouble-shooting for our current version can be provided free if you bring in your computer. Removal of viruses from your computer is chargeable.
  1. Sending or printing reasonable amount to service your clients are permitted. However it is against the Copyright Laws to reproduce in large quantities such that there is little incentive for the recipients to subscribe to our service or it has the effect of depriving us of the subscription.
  1. Attempts to bypass the copy-protection or even providing the means or methods are against the Copyright Laws. Violators will be prosecuted to the maximum by the court.
  1. Program features are added or removed based as we deemed appropriate. Additional charges may be imposed on certain additional features and current subscribers who are affected may choose to opt-out. There is no opt-out option if the new features are not chargeable.
  1. In case of program errors due to bugs within the operating systems of the computer or PDA, we can resolve it to our best effort while awaiting for new patches of the operating system.
  1. As our program may need to access the Internet for updates, please ensure that your firewall is configured correctly. Please ensure that your operating system is properly patched because viruses and worms are plentiful in the Internet and your computer is very likely to get infected if your system is not patched. We will not be responsible for infections you get from the Internet or elsewhere.
PowerSearch (Desktop)
  1. PowerSearch program is not sold but only licensed for use in conjunction with the data provided. Use of the program is allowed upon payment or an agreement for payment of the subscription fee whether verbally or in written form.
  1. This program is protected by a challenge/response code scheme. This response code will not work on another computer. License is given to operate on one specific computer even when it is in a network.
  1. The program has an expiry date and the subscribers are expected to delete it from their system if their subscription expires or non-payment of fees. Reverse engineering of the program or data is against the Copyright Laws and will be punished to the maximum accorded by the court.
  1. Usage of PowerSearch by agents within the company for personal consumption is permitted. Companies sending data to their agents on a regular basis is not permitted and against the Copyright Laws.
  1. Subscribers are allowed to backup their PowerSearch data so that in case of a computer failure, they can be restored and are spared the effort to download and update all the past data.
  1. If we terminate the service, a pro-rated refund will be given. In case of a package deal, the cost of the PowerSearch subscription component will be proportioned together with the costs of other components. There is no refund if the subscribers terminate the usage.
PowerSearch (Web)
  1. Access of the data is via Internet using your own web browser and on a subscription basis.
  1. Licence for use is given on a personal basis and sharing of password is against the Computer Misuse Act. Multi-user access can be negiotiated and permitted on a case to case basis.
  1. If our server is down, we will compensate you with twice the number of days it is not available. We will not compensate you if your network or your computer is down.
  1. If we terminate the service, a pro-rated refund will be given. In case of a package deal, the cost of the PowerSearch subscription component will be proportioned together with the costs of other components. There is no refund if the subscribers terminate the usage.
HomeBiz(Desktop)
  1. HomeBiz is copy-protected by a Dongle or KeyDisk. The Dongle/KeyDisk is warranted for 1 year from the date of installation. After the warranty, Dongle/KeyDisk can be replaced at $50 per piece upon receipt of the faulty one. We do guarantee replacement of faulty ones after 3 years.
  1. Upgrade price for a new version is available upon trade-in of an older version. The older the version, the lower the trade-in price and naturally a higher upgrade cost. This trade-in price will vary without notice.
  1. There is NO replacement for lost or misplaced Dongle/KeyDisk. Provided a police report is lodged, a new Dongle/KeyDisk can be purchased at 60% of the purchase price. If the lost Dongle/KeyDisk re-surfaced with the same serial number and theft is suspected, you will be called upon as the witness based on the police report.
  1. On-site support within the first year is $90 per incident and $150 per incident for the second year onwards.
  1. SIX Bi-monthly updates are available via the Internet. Requests for a CD for the update costs $5 to defray our admin costs.
  1. If we terminate the bi-monthly updates, we will refund you 3% of your purchase or upgrade price per bi-monthly update short. There will be no refund if you do not update. Updates are available only for the current version.
HomeLoan
  1. HomeLoan program is copy-protected by a challenge/respond code scheme. This response code will not work on another computer. License is given to operate on one specific computer even when it is in a network. Each purchase comes with 2 response codes, the second is for your backup in case of computer or hard disk failure.
  1. This response code can be written down for re-installation only. It will not work on a different computer or PDA or after you reformat your computer.
  1. A third response code is chargeable at $30 and the fourth is $60.
  1. Updates are available free as and when they are available. Major changes which require an upgrade will be chargeable. However those who purchased within one year will be given a free upgrade.
